Say About Us
My husband and I are so thankful for the staff at Adapt for Life. Gabriel was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 4. When he started with AFL a year ago he knew about 10-15 words and was frustrated because he couldn't communicate. After a few months of ABA we started to see progress and it was like seeing a lightbulb turn on in his brain. He was discovering new words and started talking a little more. As time went on he grew more confident in himself. It really touched my heart when he started walking up to my husband and I asking "What's this?" over and over again because he had a desire to learn and communicate with us and wanted to know what the word was for the item he was holding. He's been at Adapt for Life a little over a year and now he won't stop talking. He's talking in sentences, expressing all of his wants and needs and just loves life. He's become more confident in who he is and we are so excited to see what the future holds for our little guy. This is all thanks for Adapt for Life that has had Gabriel's best interest at heart since the day we started. We are so thankful for the staff and the work they have done with Gabriel.

When I think about what AFL has done for our family I’m filled with emotion. Prior to coming to AFL I had never felt more helpless, more hopeless in my life. How do I help my son? How do I let the world see the beautiful person my son is and not just a diagnosis? How do I teach him and let him grow the way he was designed? I had all these questions but no one who could provide the answer to me. I knew my son was different but not less. When our family found AFL I knew we found home. Every step of the way AFL was there. They never not once didn’t have my sons best interest at heart, even on difficult days. In AFL we found not only resources, and a place that answered all my questions but a place for my son to thrive and show the world how incredible he is the way he is. They weren’t interested in changing him or “fixing him” but helping him succeed in his own special way. We found community and a sense of peace I had yet to experience on this ride. AFL has been life changing. AFL has blossomed my son beyond what I thought was possible. AFL is home.

We love AFL! From the first moment I called and spoke to the office administrator I had a good feeling about this place. She was so nice, welcoming and explained everything in detail to me. My daughter has been at AFL since August 2021 and we’ve had an amazing experience so far. Our BCBA is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things to us. Not only does he set goals for her to achieve milestones but also things that are important to us and will make things manageable for us at home with her. For example things like tolerating washing her hair and brushing her teeth. We work together to come up with a plan that best fits her, the staff and us as parents at home. I can’t say enough great things about the staff too. All of the RBTs my daughter has worked with are very nice, patient, respectful and go out of their way to help us. I’m honestly so glad my daughter is at AFL, it has been an amazing fit for her and us. It’s great to find a place where I know my daughter is learning but that she is also safe and cared for while she is there.
